Toledo man charged with attempted murder

Thirty-year-old Toledo resident Theron Dale Garcia was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 17, on multiple charges including attempted murder.

According to public records, Garcia hit his victim with a folding stool before going to get an ax. He is also charged with kidnapping in the first degree and domestic abuse for the tieing up and strangling of his victim along with a probation violation. Garcia was convicted of domestic assault once before in 2012.

The Toledo Police Department executed a search warrant related to Garcia’s case on Feb. 19, seizing a blue twisted glass pipe, a yellow karate belt and a broken step stool, according to a court filing. A preliminary hearing on the felony domestic abuse charges is set for Feb. 27 at 9 a.m., and bond has been set at $2,000 cash in that matter. A no-contact order between Garcia and the alleged victim along with an order for prohibition of gun rights.
