TOLEDO — A Toledo man is facing three felony charges over allegations that he “unlawfully and willfully” committed sexual abuse against three individuals, all of whom were under the age of 12 at the time of the offenses, between 2017 and 2019 in Tama County.

According to court records, the charges were filed against 23-year-old Jacob John Hess Jr. in Tama County District Court on Dec. 28. Few other details were immediately available, but the defendant is scheduled to be arraigned on Jan. 18 at 9 a.m. Hess was previously charged with an OWI in Tama in August and had three charges of possessing contraband in a correctional institution, along with a charge of failure to report contraband in a correctional institution, tacked on after the fact when a white powdery substance was found inside of his wallet at the county jail.
