5. Do you think it would be a good idea for Tama-Toledo to become one united community with one public works, one police station, one fire station, etc.? E-28 agreements, as well as present cooperation should be expanded to help both communities solve the problems they face.

1. What makes you want this position? I have served the community members of Toledo for the last four years as a council member and I want to continue serving those that have elected me. I want to make a difference in the community no matter the size of the decision and that is why I want this position.

2. What would you do if elected? Continue to work with the other elected officials and community members to maintain an efficiently run city government and a welcoming community for those looking at Toledo as a place to call home.

3. Do you think there are any pressing problems that need solving? I believe the city is run efficiently with dedicated staff that are willing to put forth extra efforts to make our community shine. I don’t believe there are pressing issues rather, issues that every community experiences.

4. What would you like to see change in our community? I would like to see more business come to town. In the last four years, Toledo and Tama have lost businesses and industry, creating a loss of local jobs for our community members. We are centrally located with two major highways crisscrossing Toledo. We have direct access to rail and are relatively close to both Interstate 80 and Interstate 35 making us what I would believe to be, attractive for new business and industry.

5. Do you think it would be a good idea for Tama-Toledo to become one united community with one public works, one police station, one fire station, etc.? I don’t believe we are to this point. Both communities work together very well, helping each other out when needed. Each community is fortunate to have this relationship and benefit from our geographical locations. I have seen this in action with public works and with public safety.

6. Do you think Tama-Toledo should have more art around town similar to the mural painted at the Tama Abstract Building? I do feel that there could be more local art and history around town. This could draw more interest to our community and downtown areas.

7. What are some of your favorite things to do in Tama-Toledo? I enjoy being present and supporting local businesses. The fact that we are small town living and I have established friendships here make Toledo home and that is my favorite thing!

8. If Tama-Toledo was an animal, what kind of animal do you think it would be? A Dolphin

9. What is your favorite color? Blue

10. Why should people vote for you? I would like to have your vote because I am open minded and can consider both sides equally. I like to take time and think about topics before making a decision. Sometimes, this comes across as me not being very vocal. Rest assured, I do take everything seriously that is brought to the council and make the best decision I believe possible. I am still new at this even after four years and continue to learn.
