STC paints WaMaC red

2023 WaMaC art competition

Twelve South Tama High School students participated in the state wide WaMac art competition recently. From Mixed Media to Photography, the STC students showed amazing talent in a wide range of mediums.

Junior and Art Club President Ciela Ornales took second place in Mixed Media 2-D for “Gynoid 7000” and third place in Colored Drawing for “Look at all the Colors.” Senior Arrow Lyons received second place in digital drawing for “Come Follow Lonely Deer” and an honorable mention in Mixed Media 2-D. Sophomore Jennifer Monzo placed second in Colored Pencil 2-D for her piece entitled “Tea Party,” and Senior Zeara K. R. received an honorable mention for Colored Pencil 2-D with “MMIW March.”

Also attending WaMac was Senior Aja Banda in Acrylic Paint 2-D, Senior Araya Roberts in Mixed Media 2-D, Junior Ben Seremba in Mixed Media 2-D, Senior Itzel Herrera in Acrylic Paint 2-D, Junior James Brant in Photography Digital Color and Photography Black and White, Junior Joseph Hackenmiller in Acrylic Paint 2-D, Junior and Art Club Vice President Liliana Espinoza in Acrylic Paint 2-D and Mixed Media 2-D, and Junior Sarayna Mauskemo in Acrylic Paint 2-D.
