Tama Pump bar and grill owner Jeff Niedermann presents Tama Mayor Doug Ray with a $1,000 donation check to the City of Tama on June 4. Exact plans for the donation have not been set yet, however Ray indicated it will be used for some method of downtown revitalization. The funds came as proceeds from the BBQ Rib Contest the Tama Pump hosted during the Tama Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival on May 22. Grill enthusiasts showed up to downtown Tama as early as 4 a.m. the day of the festival to get set up and to start slow cooking their rack of pork ribs. JBS donated the the ribs for the contest which was won by a team from the Tama Livestock Auction. Niedermann said he plans to organize a similar contest Sept. 18 during the Tama-Toledo Car Show.
