South Tama will celebrate and honor veterans on Veterans Day, Nov. 11 with a reverse parade.

The parade will begin at 9 a.m. at the STC Elementary school parking lot.

Tama County Veterans Affairs will do a flag raising ceremony before the parade begins. The Tama and Toledo Fire departments and police departments will also be included in the parade.

Veterans are invited to line up in their vehicles at the Elementary south parking lot starting at 8:30 a.m. School personnel will be there to direct you.

STC students will line the parade route and wave at the veterans. The veterans will drive by the students up to the high school where they will be served breakfast in their vehicles of rolls, coffee, and juice.

If you have a veteran that you would like to personally invite, please do that. Please call either the high school or the elementary to RSVP so we have enough rolls, coffee and juice for everyone.
