Toledo-Tama Kiwanis have new members

The Kiwanis have begun their weekly meetings with social distancing, masks, and antiseptic handwash available. The group is happy to get back together and just as happy to eat Rhonda Pokorny’s meals. She provides a main course, salads, vegetable, dessert and a drink. If members choose to eat, the cost is only $6.50 per meal, and the meals are delicious.

Happily, the group will have four new members with whom they can share these great meals. Toledo Chief of Police Nate Shepard and Sergeant Dan Quigley have joined. Also joining are Earl and Pam Rutledge. A bit of entertainment was a heated competition trivia challenge between the men and women members. There was a dispute about the score-keeping with whichever team who was behind registering the complaint.

Kiwanis meetings are full of fellowship and laughter. The members enjoy each other’s company was well as knowing they are doing so much that is worthwhile for our children and our communities. The Tama Toledo Country Club is a good place to be on Wednesdays at noon. There is great food and good people and fun. If you want to know more about Kiwanis and/or wish to join, call 484-3334. You will be very welcome. It is a good group of people.
