South Tama band director Mike Carnahan is joined by his daughter, Emily, in the Taps Across America observance at 3 p.m. CST, Monday, May 25,from their front porch in Tama. The event was held nation-wide to commemorate Memorial Day as many ceremonies were cancelled this year due to COVID-19 precautions. Neighbors of the Carnahan family expressed their appreciation by standing and applauding from their vantage point across the street.
