Tama Legion and Tama-Toledo Veterans of Foreign Wars members and volunteers raised the Avenue of Flags at Oak Hill Cemetery on Friday afternoon, May 22, 2020, for the weekend Memorial Day observance. Flags honoring nearly 300 veterans are on display.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions and precautions many area Memorial Day programs have been canceled in Tama this year.

At Cheslea, the American Legion will conduct services beginning at 9 a.m.

In Toleod the American Legion Firing Squad will conduct a salute at 11 a.m. on the Tama County Courthouse Square or in front of the Legion Post- 109 N. Main (location to be determined by weather) at 11 a.m.
