National Guard food distribution at Meskwaki Assembly of God in Tama

Members of Alpha Company 248 Iowa National Guard, Waterloo, on a Task Force Log, assisted by members of the Tama Meskwaki Celebration Assembly of God Church, distributed about 15,000 lbs. of food in Tama on Thursday morning, May 14. The food was from the Northeast Iowa Food Bank supply. The food products were placed in vehicles which passed through the church parking lot on East 5th Street. The line of vehicles stretched to the Eagles Club in downtown Tama some nine blocks west and about three blocks osuth of Jackson Street. Pastors Kenny and Sharon Mervin helped direct the operation led by Staff Sgt. Adrian of the Guard. Food given to at least 150 families ranged from milk to cereal, fresh fruit and vegetables, coffe creamer and scrambled egg breakfast mix.
