Jason Dean Davis, 46, Marshalltown, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of interference with official acts. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $438.
Davis was originally cited on January 25 with impersonating a public official. He allegedly called the Tama County Sheriff’s Office on the telephone and identifying himself as Marshall County Reserve Sheriff. The charge was filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joseph Quandt.
David Joseph Robison , 27, Traer, pleaded guilty to 2nd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to serve seven days in jail with credit for any item already served and fined and assessed court costs totaling $2,719.
Robinson was charged on July 21, 2019, at 190th Street and II Avenue, rural Gladbrook. by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Neil Frizell.
Donald Anthony Tomlinson, 51, Tama, appeared via video-conferencing. Upon an earlier guilty plea for manufacture, delivery or possession intent to deliver marijuana entered on Jan. 3, he was sentenced to a suspended five-year prison term. A $750 fine was also suspended and he was placed on probation for three years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services and to pay the probation enrollment fee.
Charges of keep, permit or maintain premises or other environment for drugs and failure to affix a drug tax stamp were dismissed.
Tomlinson was originally charged on Dec. 21, 2018, in the 1300 block of Sesame Drive, Tama, by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Rodney Drummer.
Cody Ryan Kopel, 33, rural Garwin, received a deferred judgment on a written guilty plea to child endangerment filed previously on Feb. 26. He was assessed a $625 civil penalty placed on self-supervised probation to the Department of Correctional Services, directed to pay a $300 supervisory fee and was directed to complete recommendation from his substance abuse evaluation.
Kopel was charged following an incident in the 1300 block of Sesame Drive on Nov. 10, 2019. He was cited by Tama Police Chief Jason Bina.
Stacy Leigh Rook, 49, Cedar Rapids, was found in contempt of court for violation of terms of probation. She was sentenced to seven days in jail which may be served in the Linn County Jail, Cedar Rapids, if approved by Tama and Linn County sheriffs. Term of probation was continued.
Rook was cited in a probation violation report for not having a suitable place to live, testing positive for admitting to use of metamphetamine on nine separate occasions and not completing an updated substance abuse evaluation as directed.
Court records note Rook had a deferred judgment revoked in 2016 after four violation reports were filed, probation was extended and a jail term imposed in 2018 after five ore violation reports were filed and was placed in a community residential facility in 2019 after the filing of three more violation reports.
Rook originally received a deferred judgment on Feb. 12, 2015, on a charge of possession of pseudoephedrine as a precursor with intent to manufacture sell, distribute and / or make available pseudoephedrine with intent as a precursor.
Rook was among several persons charged in an alleged drug manufacturing operation located on Tama County Road E66 at rural Chelsea in September, 2015 by the Tama County Sheriff’s Office.
