Tama County Conservation welcomes guest speaker Brennan Dolan

Do you want to be an owl? Come join the O.W.L.S. (Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls) group at Otter Creek Lake & Park on Jan. 8. This month features guest speaker Brennan Dolan with a presentation titled “The Landscapes that Shape Us.”

Brennan Dolan is an archaeologist and cultural resources manager for the Iowa Department of Transportation. Previously he worked for the National Park Service, in the private sector and the State Historic Preservation Office in Iowa.

His educational background includes undergraduate and graduate work in Anthropology, Archaeology, and American Indian/Native Studies.

When he is not at work, you can find him spending time with his family, on a bike or in a kayak.

O.W.L.S. is a fun way to get out of the house, learn about nature, and enjoy the company of friends. This lunch & Learn series is scheduled the 2nd Wednesday of each month, and is designed for seniors but all adults are welcome. Meet at the nature center at Otter Creek Park, 2283 Park Road, Toledo, IA. Presentations start at 11 a.m. and a light lunch will follow the program (around noon). The program is free and open to the public. RSVP to Brendan Kelly to help us plan for seats: 641-484-2231 or:bkelly@tamacounty.org.
