On Friday, Dec.13, the ak Hill Cemetery Association met at the King Tower for their annual Christmas gathering. Hostesses were officers Jennifer Kucera, Chris McCune, Sally Willett and Anne Michael.

Chris McCune provided recorded background Christmas music. Officers also greeted members with gifts including kitchen towels, sweets, and a beautiful bead bracelet.

They each answered the roll call question about what they liked most and least about Christmas. Everyone found it easy to point out what they liked most. However, there was some difficulty finding what they liked least. One member said she least liked when the house was quiet after everyone left. S

Special attention was given to Carol Matta, Chris McCune and Kim Carter. These three ladies had perfect attendance at all the group’s meetings and they each received a soft throw blanket to provide warmth in this cold winter.

Anne Michael gave devotions. One was a letter to Santa from an overworked mom who asks for things like a morning where she has time to both comb her hair and brush her teeth. The other was a reading from the Bible on the birth of Christ.

Jennifer Kucera provided a fun craft project for each member. She brought clear plastic Christmas balls and a variety of things that could be put inside them. She then used her glue gun as a finishing touch and put a bow at the top of each ball. Chris McCune sent each member home with Christmas puzzles that they could use at their own Christmas gatherings.

The group voted to send $20 to the food pantry. To close the meeting, they recognized members Shirley Franklin and Fran Wall who have birthdays this month. After saying the Lord’s Prayer, they enjoyed cake for dessert.

The next meeting is 2 p.m., Jan. 10, at the King Tower for officers and any members who wish to attend. There is no meeting in February.
