Oak Hill Cemetery Association met Oct. 11
At the October 11 meeting, the Oak Hill Cemetery Association signed cards to be sent to members who have been unable to attend meetings. The ‘thinking of you~ cards will be sent by Kim Carter who has accepted the role of making sure appropriate cards are sent to members.
The group discussed plans for their Christmas meeting. This meeting will not be devoted to business but is a meeting of fellowship and fun. They also wanted to express their appreciation to John Speer and Charles Betz. John gave excellent coverage to the association’s projects at Oak HiII and also covered the Rose Fowler memorial, making it an even more special occasion.
Charles Betz was willing to take photographs of the Rose Fowler Memorial Drives sign and the angel statue in the Shayer mediation area. The association is thankful for their very valuable contributions.
Members discussed the Rose Fowler appreciation event and felt it went very well and honored Rose appropriately. At the event, family and friends shared memories of this wonderful lady. All agreed she was truly a special person.
A project that the group will undertake is updating the book that has pictures and articles showing their contributions to Oak Hill Cemetery over the years.
The next meeting will be held at the King Tower at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, with Lois Fisher as hostess. Anyone interested in the upkeep and beautification of Oak Hill Cemetery is welcome to attend.
