Homecoming 2019 is next week for South Tama County. Events will begins on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 22, with a 5K at South Tama High School Registration begins at 2 p.m. and the race starts at 3 p.m. This event is open to the community.

The theme for the week’s festivities is “Crush the Cardinals.” The football team will play the Newton Cardinals on Friday evening.

The annual parade will be on Thursday evening in Toledo at 6 p.m. Following the parade is Coronation where the Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned. After Coronation will be a Jersey Auction. Each fall activity will be auctioning off items such as jerseys and t-shirts. The person who wins the item will also receive time for a Trojan Way Community Day service project later in the fall.

Anyone who is interested in purchasing a Homecoming t-shirt can visit the HOCO store on Sunday afternoon after the 5K or on Tuesday evening at the home volleyball game.
