Everyone is invited to witness the “raising of the big top” on Friday morning, Aug. 16, behind the Tama Fire Station at the Civic Center in downtown Tama.

The Culpepper and Merriweather Circus is in town for two shows at 5 and 7:30 p.m.

On Friday morning everyone is invited to take a free circus tour, meet with the performers and learn about the care of the circus animals.

The circus is jointly sponsored in Tama by The Tama Fire Department, EMS and Tama Police. Each will benefit from the circus proceeds to pay for equipment and training.
