On Wednesday, April 10 the South Tama Trojan Visual Art students took their talents to be showcased at the 2019 WaMac West Art Show. Seven schools, Benton, Vinton, Clear Creek Amana, Center Point Urbana, Independence, Williamsburg, and South Tama, competed and had their artwork judged.

“With so many talented students at this event, I was in awe of the ability and skill all these high school students possessed. Our very own South Tama Artist held their own and represented STC The Trojan Way,” said art teacher Nate Doran.

Logan Witt took 1st place in Ceramic Sculpture and Witt also received Best in Show for 3-D. Molly Savage took 1st place in mixed media drawing, 1st in place ink drawing and received Best in Show for 2-D. Grace Novotny took 3rd place in Acrylic Paint

In all South Tama HS had 15 artists represented in the Art Show. Students included Chaysen Old Bear, Veronica Peters, Emma Koehler, Haley Dunning, Kate Froelich, Selena Ortiz, Hanah Novotny, Grace Novotny, Raelynn Clemann, Jacob Deverala, Abdul Musaluf Mohamad Bokhori, Molly Savage, Parker Noe, Delijah Johnson and Kate Riha.

“I was so proud to be their teacher and the way each one of them represented South Tama, the future is bright!” said Doran.
