Fun Day planned at Fall Festival at Otter Creek this Sunday
Fall is officially here and Tama County Conservation is ready to celebrate. Greet the season with a fun afternoon at the park, complete with fall color views, outdoor activities, and live music. The annual Fall Festival will be Sunday, October 7th from 12 p.m. 4 p.m. at Otter Creek Lake and Park.
Don’t miss this free, family event with fun for all ages. Bluegrass Band “Banjoy” out of North English, IA will join us to play from Noon-1 p.m. and 2-3 p.m. Bring your own chair or blanket to sit in the grass and enjoy the tunes. Gather in the community room at 1 p.m. for a guest speaker presentation by the Blank Park Zoo. They will bring 4 live animals from Des Moines to meet us.
Get busy by cranking the antique apple cider press to crank your own cup of cider, made with fresh apples from Hinegardner’s Orchard. Try your hand at shooting archery. Step into the Iowa DNR’s mobile trailer to enter the “How You Live Has an Impact” exhibit. Climb on a pontoon boat to see what the park looks like from the water. Do a 4H apple activity with the Tama County ISU Extension Office, pose in front of the photo backdrop, make a nature craft, or stick a fall leaf tattoo on your arm, there’s truly something for everyone!
Bring cash in case you find something you need at the mini- marketplace. Vendors will be selling delicious food and baked goods, along with produce, honey products, hand-crafted items and more! This is the perfect spot to grab lunch or an afternoon snack.
Don’t miss the fun on Sunday, October 7, from 12 p.m.- 4 p.m. at Otter Creek Lake and Park!
