Firefighters, ambulance crews aid “Stuff the Bus” for South Tama schools

Tama and Toledo Ambulance Service members and Tama and Toledo firefighters joined in a collection effort at Shopko which netted a big list of supplies for STC?”Stuff the Bus” campaign on Saturday, Aug. 4. Shayne Turner, manager of the nearby Dollar General Store and a Toledo firefighter, pitched in with a shopping cart load of supplies from his store, Tama EMT?Ruth Hildahl, an event organizer, said.
In all, there was a total of nearly 1,000 items donated or purchased by the group from monetary donations. The event continues to Aug. 21.
In addition to local drop sites, there is an option for a monetary contribution this year- you can click on the picture of the flyer on the Tama-Toledo Chamber website and it will take you to the site to make a donation, according to Stuff the Bus organizer Lindsay Schumacher.
