Toledo Police Department releases statement following investigation of suspicious person
At 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, Toledo Police Department released the following statement on Facebook from a recent investigation. The release reads as follows:
“On Wednesday, July 25, 2018, the Toledo Police Department was made aware of a Facebook post alerting people to a suspicious person at Casey’s General Store in Toledo, Iowa. Officers contacted the author of the post and requested that the author make a report. After taking the report, officers interviewed Casey’s staff, other witnesses, as well as, viewed Casey’s video footage. With the help of community members throughout the last week, the suspicious person in question was identified and interviewed. It has been determined by the Toledo Police Department that the interaction with the suspicious person was innocent. The Toledo Police Department appreciates all the assistance from our community and would like to remind everyone to report any suspicious activity to your local law enforcement agency.”
