New flags will soon be flying all over downtown Toledo streets cared for by the Reinig-Friedrich Post 72 Toledo American Legion. Tama-Toledo Lions Club members presented Legion Commander Elizabeth Ledvina with a $1,000 contribution to the effort on Wednesday afternoon, July 11. On hand for the presentation were (left to right) Lion member George Kuhter, Legionnaire Bruce Muecke, Lions member John Willett, Ledvina, and Lions members John Karkosh, Earl Rutledge and Mike Richardson. Ledvina said the money combined with a $500 contribution from the City of Toledo will allow the Legion to purchase all new flags which are flown on Memorial, Independence and Veterans days and other special occasions.
