The Lincoln Highway Bridge Park will begin its spring clean up as the weather warms up. Our flowers are slowly popping their heads up and we need to clean away the winter debris.

Many of you flower gardeners have gotten out to sweep away the winter cover off your flowers beds. As you continue to clean, thin, and downsize these flowers beds, any of your discarded perennial flowers, send our way. They will be planted in the areas around the Memorial, the Flag Pole / Rock, and the new Abe Lincoln Highway Marker.

To spruce up the existing flower beds and prepare them for new perennial flowers, we need folks to volunteer their time or donate perennial flowers, healthy clean dirt, mulch, and fertilizer. We are seeking someone with a tiller to cultivate the area around the Flagpole and the Abe Lincoln Marker. You will see us at the park on warmer days and we invite you to join us on Earth Day, Sunday April 22, 11:00am till 4:00pm (weather pending). On Earth Day we celebrate our planet and its natural beautify. It reminds us to keep our Earth healthy with clean air, land and water.

The Lincoln Highway Bridge Park is part of the Gateway to Tama / Toledo project that exits East on Highway 30 and East Fifth Street, Tama. Community folks, groups, organizations and businesses are working together to beautify these areas to welcome visiting travelers.
