The children of Phyllis Elizabeth Norton donated $1,000 worth of new books to the South Tama Elementary Library in honor of what would have been her 100th birthday on September 25, 2017. Phyllis and her husband, Herbert Norton Sr., opened a music store in Tama in 1958. Their children Linda Norton, Don Norton (Norton Greenhouse), Herbert Norton Jr., and Denise Norton Paasch graduated from South Tama High School. Her children donated these books to honor her life spent in this community.
