Lunch with a Purpose , a soup and sandwich lunch is being held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 11 a.m – 1 p.m. at the Tama Senior Center located at 900 E. 5th Street in Tama. Proceeds are to benefit “Save a Lunch / Tama County Meals on Wheels.” Cost is $7 per plate.

Lunch with a Purpose is being sponsored by Sunny Hill Care Center and the Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging.

Currently a total of 1,000 mobile meals are being served monthly in Tama County according to Deb Peska, coordinator of the Tama Healthy Lifestyle Program.

Some of the organizations whose members deliver meals include PEO, Womens Club, Toledo-Tama Kiwanis, Tama Celebration Meskwaki Assembly of God Church, St.Paul Lutheran Church, Christ and Living Faith UnitedMethodist Churches, Living Faith Discovery Group, CIRSI, Toledo Legion,Catholic Women, Toledo 1st Presbyterian Church, Tama-Toledo Lions Club,T-T Eagles, New Life Church and Helping Hands.
