South Tama schools Project 60 – 2016

Project 60, the South Tama School annual holiday event for those age 60 and over was again well attended according to Emily Chyma, STC?high teacher, who said at least 200 area residents were served. Chyma, along with STC?Middle School teacher Kathy Wilkerson, head up the event along with the high school food service staff and Food Service Director Sandra Jantzen and the middle school and high school student councils.

Seasonal music was presented by the high school choir directed by Chris McFate, concert band under the direction of Mike Carnahan and Josh Grimes on the piano.

On the menu was a traditional holiday meal including turkey with all the trimmings.

Project 60 was introduced in the early 1980s by then Superintendent Jim Dodd and the tradition has carried on through the years.
