South Tama County Adopt-A-Family is underway
The Christmas season is here with all the excitement, anticipation and opportunities to share your blessings with others. The S T C Adopt-A-Family committee is here to help. Everyone “adopted” is from the S.T.C. School district, so you really are helping your neighbor. This is a wonderful opportunity to share as you can with those who currently have little by:
Adopting an individual or an entire family and purchasing gifts for them. “Wishmas Trees” with name tags (each coded for confidentiality) and gift suggestions are located at Shopko (Highway 63, Toledo) and State Farm Insurance (High St. & Hwy 63, Toledo).
Purchasing food certificates for the holidays meals.
Cash donation for the purchase of gifts or food certificates. Checks may be made payable to “STC Adopt-A-Family”.
The purchased gifts, food certificates and cash donations need to be delivered to Shopko or State Farm Insurance by Monday, December 12th for distribution on the 16th. The goal is for each individual to receive a gift and each family to receive a food certificate.
With the generous support of individuals, organizations and businesses, the S.T.C. Adopt-A-Family committee has been able to brighten the holidays for approximately 100 families each year for more than 25 years. The committee is composed entirely of community volunteers: Cletus Miller, Dan and Micki Ferris, Cindy Roth, Margaret Scharnweber, Adam Anderson, Denise Fletcher, Donna Smith and Lesa Haughey. If you have any questions, please give one of them a call.
