Leave raking appreciated in Tama

News-Herald/Allison Graham

On Friday, November 11 three STC students including Clarissa Rosenberger, Diego Villafana and Aleksandra Beha gathered for a service project during their day off from school. Also joining were STCHS teacher Emily Chyma and Darvin Graham.

The grouped raked the yard of Tama resident Rosemary De Joode.

Rosemary expressed her appreciation:

Letter to the Editor:

A simple thank you cannot even start to cover what I am feeling today. A group of young people from South Tama Schools came to my home contributing lawn work as a service project.

I have had more leaves than the average yard should have. My years of enjoying my trees were dimmed somewhat by the inability to keep up with the piles of leaves.

They, cheerfully, rakes flying, marched through the yard eliminating all my worries.

I can only hope that they can feel how very, very much I apprciate today and that my faith in the future in their hands has been renewed!

Rosemary De Joode
