South Tama County School Board members met Monday night, Oct. 3, to appoint a Student Abuse Level 1 Investigation committee.

Iowa Code section provides a uniform procedure for investigating allegations of physical and sexual abuse of students by school employees. This procedure is done annually.

Those appointed as Level 1 Investigators include Stacy Stull, Kris Collins, Melanie Kemper, Anita Townsley, Ben Adams, Brian Petullo, Leah Fonua, Roy Frakes, Dan Phipps, Dan Lopez and Kate Ihnen. Alternate will be Mary B. Jones.

Level 11 Investigators will be Ahlers & Cooney Law Firm, or other designated sources.

Also on Monday:

A contract for Julie Herman as elementary cook, effective September, 2016, was approved, and Michelle Bradly for winter even coordinator effective November, 2016.

Following the business meeting the group attended the Board Retreat.

The next meeting of the South Tama County Community Board of Education will be on Oct. 17 at 5:30 p.m. at the South Tama Learning Center, 215 West 9th St., Tama.
