Tama Disaster Plan Approved

A recent recommendation from a Tama County Emergency Management meeting has resulted in the development of a Tama Disaster Plan. Tama City Council members Robert Tyynismaa, Doug Ray and Mike Carnahan voted to approve the procedures Monday night. Members Kenny McAdoo and Aaron Haughey were absent.
The plan goes into effect on the order of the mayor and sets out duties of officials including the fire and police chiefs, EMS director, public works director, county health nurse and a logistics / financial officer who are to report to the established command post.
Communication, staging area, information center, medical headquarters and shelter areas are all designated with primary and alternate locations.
