Kade Brown to Washington D. C. Youth Initiative

Kade Brown

Kade Brown was this year’s Meskwaki Settlement High School valedictorian who has been awarded a scholarship to the 2016 Association of American Indian Physicians, National Native American Youth Initiative in Washington D.C.

The Association of American Indian Physicians is hosting the 18th National Native American Youth Initiative, which will be held on the George Washington University campus in Washington D.C., July 1-10.

Kade’s scholarship included airfare, lodging, and meals during the NNAYI program. NNAYI’s curriculum is strategically designed to prepare high school students for admission to college and professional schools, as well as for careers in health and biomedical research.

Kade, who is planning to attend Ft. Lewis College to study pre-med this fall, was recently recognized by Governor Branstad for academic excellence and was named KWWL’s “Best in the Class 2016”. He was also awarded the Alvin Bear Scholarship, the Meskwaki Tribal Court Scholarship and the Mark K. Ulman Scholarship.
