-Christi Musgrave, Toledo, is undergoing treatment for colon cancer.

A benefit to aid Christi with medical expenses is planned for Sunday, May 29, beginning at 4 p.m. at Bumblebee’s, 112 N. Broadway, in Toledo.

A silent auction will run from 4-7 p.m., a live auction at 6 p.m. and entertainment will begin at 4 p.m.

Hamburgers, potato salad, baked beans, chips and dessert will be served from 4-6 p.m.

Christi has two children, Josh and Taylor.

There will be a free will donation on Sunday and donations may also be made at The State Bank of Toledo – o/o Christi Musgrave.

June 3-

-A benefit for the family of the late Roger Purk will be held on Friday, June 3, beginning at 5 p.m. at The Tama Ballroom, former Venture Lanes location, 1411 E. 5th (Business Highway 30 east), Tama.

Tama County Pork Producers will be grilling pork burgers, a 50 / 50 raffle, silent auction and bake sale are among the events planned.

There will be a dance from 8 p.m.- midnight with the band Limited Edition and a DJ featured.

Roger, 22, lost his life in a work-related accident on April 20. Among survivors are his fiance, Virginia Joy of Tama; one son, Kaven Havik, at home and expecting another son Sept. 6.

A benefit to assist Jerome Behounek with medical expenses is planned for Saturday, June 4 at St. Joseph Catholic School in Chelsea from 5-9 p.m. A supper, bake sale and silent auction are the events.

Jerome suffered two work-related injuries and has been unable to work for nearly a year.

-Alzheimer’s Association Motorcycle Ride

Riding for Memory 2016 is the theme for the Alzheimer’s Association benefit set for Saturday, June 4, at the Tama Ballroom, former Venture Lanes location, 1411 E. 5th (Business Highway 30 east), Tama.

Registration for the motorcycle ride is from 9:30-11:30 a.m. with the run to begin at noon.

There will be a 50 / 50 drawing and raffle drawings. Live entertainment will be provided by alternative artist Lauren.

-A fund raising event to benefit Jerry Lee Thede, 41, who has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic esophageal cancer will be held on Saturday, June 11, at the Tama-Toledo Eagles Aerie 2828 Club, 112 E. 3rd, Tama. Events will run from 2-7 p.m. with a spaghetti supper served from 4-7 p.m.

A silent auction and bake sale will be conducted and there will be drawings.

Jerry, formerly of Tama-Toledo, and his wife, Jeanette, have a daughter, Aspen Rose, 6.
