Cherry Lake Fishing Derby is Saturday, June 4.

Kids get first chance, but adults can join in their own contest at the end at the Cherry Lake Fishing Derby on Saturday, June 4 with sign in beginning at 7:30 a,m. and fishing starting at 8:30 a.m. and running to noon.

Adults will get their chance in a 50 / 50 contest following the Kids derby.

The popular event for younger anglers returns to the lake located just southwest of the downtown Tama business district sponsored by The Community Activities Group, Inc., a local group which promotes activities each year and co-hosted by the Fraternal Order of the Eagles?Club.

Entry forms are available at Tama and toledo city halls and the Eagles club in Tama. Adults must fill out a medical release form for each participant.

Cherry Lake will have catfish, bass, bluegill and crappie with fish tagged for prizes.
