Iowa First Lady Chris Branstad reads to students including (l-r) Amare Chavez, Pedro Munoz, Maeley Elsbury and Zophia Zmolek in Deloris Ryan’s 4th grade class at the South Tama Elementary School on Monday morning, April 18. Branstad has read to other classes taught by Ryan over the years as part of the Read Across America program. The effort promotes interest in reading to young people. Branstad also gave examples of the value of reading to her role as First Lady.
