Proposed use of the South Tama football field on Toledo’s east side raised some concerns but remains under study by the STC?School Board.

Toledo City Council member Travis Mullen had recently advanced the idea of using at least a portion of the property for a dog park for residents to exercise their pets.

However, discussion by the South Tama School Board at their Wednesday, April 13, meeting included concern being expressed about liability on the part of the district.

The football field, bordered by East Carleton, East Ross and South Ann streets hosted Toledo and later Tama-Toledo high schools varsity and other football games and such activities as pee-wee and other youth baseball.
