Dvorak Benefit planned Feb. 27
A Feb. 27 benefit is planned for Carol Dvorak of Garwin. The benefit will include a free will donation to a pork meal with side dishes. A silent and a live auction and a 50/50 Raffle will also take place. The event will be held at the old Garwin Grocery Store and will take place from 5 to 8 p.m.
Carol was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in January. She underwent a complicated and intensive surgery and is currently receiving radiation and chemotherapy in Iowa City. Her treatment will be on-going for seven weeks.
Carol was an ER nurse at Marshalltown for many years. However, because of prior injuries, Carol has been without work for at least a year.
The benefit is being hosted by her nursing and hospital staff co-workers and several close friends. For those unable to attend, cards and/or donations may be sent to the Dvorak Family at 518 Rider Street, Garwin, IA 50632.
