Pennies for patients drive underway at South Tama Middle School

From February 1-22, STC?Middle School students will be participating in a Pennies for Patients fundraiser.

The efforts help to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma society and every penny we raise, goes directly to this organization for funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services. Students will have the opportunity to donate coins and paper money each day in their home base classroom. Our goal is to raise $2,000 and this is the first year we have participated. The class with the most money raised will win a pizza party. We have special events for each day planned to motivate students and faculty/staff are also invited to participate. Each classroom will have a collection box and every student will also have a letter to take home and a home collection box. Every penny counts and our students are getting excited! In the next two weeks,

Each classroom will get a thermometer to track their donations and we will have a large school thermometer also.

Every penny counts and our students are getting excited reports Scotti Hagensick, school counselor.
