The ladies auxiliary meeting was held January 18th at Post 73 with Dorothy Hagerty as hostess. Provided were President, Secretary, and Treasurer’s reports. The next auxiliary meeting will be Monday February 15th at the post at 1pm.

New business: President Brenda Youngbear will be contacting the South Tama High School Counselor to provide applications for the 2016 American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Program to be held at Drake University in Des Moines. Jr Class girls interested for the week-long event must turn in their applications by February 28th to Brenda by contacting at 484-7521.

URGENT NOTICE by Jan. 31 Post 73 the 2016 Membership dues must be received to remain in good standing. Failure will result in loss of number of years of continuous membership. Contact Delia Schroeder at 484-2480.

The American Legion of Iowa Mid Winter Conference will be held in Des Moines, Iowa February 12-14, 2016 at the Airport Holiday Inn (phone 515-287-200). The conference allows members of the Legion family to learn more about our great organization. Members of the Legion, Auxiliary, and Sons of the American Legion have the opportunity to attend Commission/Committee meetings, workshops, information stands, and hear guests speakers. The next Tama County Joint meeting will be held in Traer on February 23rd.

Thank yous were received from the Marshalltown Veterans Home for the donated Christmas party cookies and the Ronald McDonalds Houses.

The Auxiliary bake sale and Legion fish fry will be at the Post on Friday February 12 from 5:00-7:30pm. Everyone is welcome.
