South Tama looks to fill superintendent post by May 29
A resolution selecting the semi-finalist candidates for the South Tama schools superintendent’s job was on the agenda for the May 18 school board meeting. However, the names of the applicants will not be made public according to the board agenda.
Board President Michelle Yuska told The Chronicle on Monday there are up to seven applicants for the post.
G. Tryon & Associates, a consulting firm, was hired by the school board to conduct the search for a new superintendent.
In a closed session on Tuesday night, the board was scheduled for superintendent applicant selection. Board interviews with these applicants are scheduled for today, Thursday, May 21, in closed sessions at the Reinig-Toledo Civic Center. The independent stakeholders group and the board will conduct interviews with the finalists on May 27 and 28.
The target date to make the selection is May 29 with the start date for the new superintendent in July 1.
Kerri Nelson, who has served as STC?superintendent for more than seven years resigned in April after accepting the superintendent’s position for the Shenandoah School District.
