Search continues for woman on Meskwaki Settlement
A cadaver dog was brought in last week in the continued search for the whereabouts of Rita Papakee, 41, on the Meskwaki Settlement west of Tama. In a social media post, Travis “Trap” Davenport” reported “Another search coming up empty. We spent the day checking waterways. This dog would know if a human was in the river/pond/lakes.
“We will still be searching small areas not giving up people.”
A press release from Meskwaki Police issued Feb. 18, says she was last seen on Friday Jan. 16, 2015, at approximately 1 p.m. at the Meskwaki Casino.
Papakee is described as a Native American female, 5’4″, 145 pounds, long brown hair, medium build.
If anyone has information, locates, or comes into contact with Rita Papakee please contact the Meskwaki Nation Police Department via Tama County Dispatch at 641-484-3760 or your local law enforcement agency.
