According to the National Weather Service portions of Tama County including Tama, Toledo, Traer, Dysart and Gladbrook are under an elevated fire danger this afternoon. The combination of very warm temperatures, low relative humidity, gusty southwest winds and dry grass will result in an elevated fire danger across the area this afternoon (Sunday, March 15).

Outdoor burning is discouraged today due to the risk of quickly spreading grass fires.
