The hayrack rides that caused a big sensation among young and old alike last year are back next Friday night, Oct. 17. The City of Tama will again host the rides and a series of “interesting” characters who will have found their way to Cherry Lake, located just southwest of the downtown business district.
The first ride will begin at 7 p.m. All rides are free.
To get things off to a good start, the Tama County Humane Society is serving a chili supper beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Tama Civic Center, 305 Siegel. There will be a free-will offering to benefit the Humane Society Shelter.
In addition, Tama-Toledo Area Chamber of Commerce members will have a “Trick or Treat?Trail” set up before the hayride to provide some goodies from 5 – 6:30 p.m. on the South Tama Recreation Trail, just west of the Civic Center. Ages 0-12 may take part in trick or treat activity.
