South Tama Middle School Academic Honors
South Tama County Middle School held their annual Academic Awards Thursday, May 21. 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students were honored with academic achievement in their classes, honor roll, and Presidential Award for Academic Excellence.
To receive an Academic Award in their classes they had to meet criteria set by each individual teacher.
To make the Silver Honor Roll they had to achieve a 3.0-3.49 GPA for the first three quarter and Gold Honor Roll they had to achieve a 3.5-4.0 for the first three quarters.
To receive the Presidential Award of Academic Excellence students have to make the Gold Honor Roll in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade and score in the 85th percentile on the Iowa Assessment in either Reading Comprehension or Math their 8th grade year.
