Activities continue to build at Tama’s?Cherry Lake. This time a group of area community volunteers – The Community?Activities Group- are offering the Cherry Lake Fishing Derby for kids and Cardboard Boat Regatta, both on Saturday, June 7.

The events are being co-hosted by the Tama-Toledo Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Tama-Toledo Lions?Club.

Sign in for the kids Fishing Derby begins at 7:30 a.m. Kids need to have their own fishing gear.

The Derby starts at 8:30 a.m. Fish will be tagged for prizes including one “big fish” for $1,000.

It’s also DNR?free fishing weekend, so no licenses are required.

At 1:30 p.m. the Cardboard?Boat Regatta gets underway. It requires an attending adult to sign an event medical release.
