South Tama Levy vote fails
Voters in the South Tama School District have turned down renewal of a Physical Property and Equipment Levy for the second time, this time by a vote of 303 – YES to 435 NO in unofficial returns for the special election on Tuesday, Feb. 4. The vote failed 149 – YES – 150 – NO in the September, 2013 regular school election. The PEPL provides $1.34 per $1,000 tax valuation for school district equipment and property needs and would have been renewed for a 10-year period beginning July 1, 2015 upon passage.
