It’s been awhile since we’ve updated you on news from the library. You might have heard that we had a pipe burst in an exterior wall, mostly affecting our children’s library. Damage was limited to one wall and some very wet carpet.

Thanks to the fast help from staff and family, Trustee Russ Shefchik and our great city employees-John, Stuart, Jon, Kent, Bill and Mayor Dan Zimmerman, we were able to get the water shut off, the wet sheetrock and insulation removed and the carpet dried out.

The wall was rebuilt by Bruce Richards, the carpet was cleaned and the shelves are back in place. By the time you read this everything will be ready for use again and we will have Movie Day, Sunday Feb. at 1:30 pm. We will be watching Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
