South Tama FFA harvests, markets soybeans
FFA?members harvested South Tama fields near the high school and elementary school in Tama in late October. Andy and Chris Chyma provided the combine, tractor, and wagon. Jim Bonschmitt provided the semi to assist in hauling the soybeans to Werners in Tama.

On Friday, Oct. 25, the STC Agriculture Marketing 2 class harvested the 53 acre soybean field surrounding the high school and elementary.
Andy and Chris Chyma provided the combine, tractor, and wagon. Jim Bonschmitt provided the semi to assist in hauling the soybeans to Werners in Tama.
Students spent the day in the combine, the tractor, and hauling. Students took tests of the grain, soil, and cleared the waterways of trees.
The field yielded 29 bushels per acre, and averaged 15 percent moisture. The Agriculture Marketing 3 class will market the soybeans throughout the next month.
