T-T Eagles – Auxiliary have joint installation

The local Eagles Auxiliary held a joint installation of Officers with the Tama-Toledo Aerie on June 9 for the 2013-2014 year. The present presiding officers are Jean Doran, Madam President; Francine Miller-Cox, Vice-President; Mary Jane Nekola, Chaplain; Donna Lasser, Secretary; Brenda Young, Treasurer; Brenda Youngbear, Conductor; Avon Bennett, Kathy Bennett and Nellie Morehead, Trustees; Jeannene Rank, Inside Guard; Tonya Webb, Outside Guard. Millie Schultz served as the Installing President and Carleen Corum was the Installing Conductor.

The new officers took over their duties on Monday, June I O. President Jean Doran announced that Millie Schultz would be her Grandmother and Nellie Morehead the Mother for the fiscal year.

The Annual Iowa State Convention was held in Grinnell June 12 -15. Delegates from Tama-Toledo nominated to attend were Jean Doran, Donna Lasser and Mary Jane Nekola. They reported a nice attendance; great activities, delicious food and brought back many first place certificates for those who served as Chairman of the Year for National, State and Local charities.

The local Ritual Team was in competition with other teans from around Iowa. Tama-Toledo has competed statewide every year except two for the past 58 years and a few times on the National level.

Members of the team this year were Mary Jane Nekola, Jr. Past Madam President; Carleen Corum, President; Nellie Morehead, Vice-President; Marge Breja, Chaplain and Brenda Youngbear, Conductor.

The Convention for 2014 is slated for Des Moines.

The Auxiliary will again start their monthly fish frys on Friday, Sept. 6. Soup and Sandwich nights are scheduled to begin later.

A craft sale is in the process of being organized and will be advertised as soon as the date is set up.

The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. in the club rooms at which time the attendees will report on the National Convention held in Reno, Nv. July 29 – Aug. 1.
