Juanita Sandoval, Toledo, and Cindy Feisel, Montour, were among those receiving Volunteer Service Awards recently from Gov. Terry Branstad and Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds.

The 30th annual Governor’s Award Ceremony was held at the Linn Mar High School Auditorium at Marion on June 12. A reception followed.

Sandoval and Feisel were nominated by Deb Peska, director of the Toledo Healthy Lifestyles- Toledo Senior Center.

Peska said in the nominations, “They made an outstanding contribution to Tama County through volunteer service. They demonstrated exceptional commitment to volunteer by helping with special projects and ongoing activities at the Toledo Senior Center. They demonstrated their leadership, creativity cooperation and hard work in the service to others.”
