South Tama FFA Chapter takes part in contests

South Tama’s FFA Chapter went to sub districts on March 4 in Colfax- Mingo where the students participated in various contests.

Amy Novotny participated in Ag Broadcasting where she received a bronze award; Beth Wilson in Public Speaking received a silver award; Laura Novotny, Erin Clayton, Kyle Llewellyn, Houstyn Phinney and Charles Kaufman participated in Parliamentary Procedure and received a bronze; Mindy Ryan, Katie Chyma, and Madison Waterbury took the Greenhand quiz received a silver award; Lucas Shope participated in Job Interview received a gold alternate award and Haley Shope participated in Creed Speaking received a silver award. Grant Van De Walle, Tanner Boldt and Tyler Quigley all participated in the chapter quiz and received a silver.

On Saturday, March 9, at Earlham High School, FFA members participated in District FFA contests. Amy Novotny, Beth Wilson, Laura Novotny, Wes Kalinay, and Michelle Kroeger all participated in Ag Issues and Perceptions and received a silver award. Amy Novotny, Michelle Kroeger, and Beth Wilson all received an academic achievement award.

The STC FFA chapter received a Superior National Chapter Award.
