Reva Dostal celebrates her “22nd” birthday

Reva Dostal

Family gathered Sunday to help Reva Dostal celebrate her 22nd birthday. Among those present was Reva’s husband of 65 years, Ludwig.

Her birthday is actually Wednesday February 29 which means she only has a birthday every four years.

“Twenty-two doesn’t seem too much different than 21,” Reva said. “It was very nice that so many people came to help me celebrate.”

The birthday celebration was held at her daughter and son-in-law’s home, Becky and Bill Faircloth of rural Toledo. Also present were her oldest son, Alan from Texas, and her youngest son and his wife, Kim and Judy Dostal from Albion. Grandchildren present were Jason Faircloth, of Legrand and Joel and Casey Faircloth of Beaman. Great Grandson, Mason Frost, of Melborne was also present.

Also joining the celebration were her brother and his wife, Roy and Ann Caster from Union; her sister and her husband, Betty and Art Posusta, from Toledo; and Sister-in-law, Ardis Caster, of Eldora. Nieces and Nephews included Jill and Kyle Haskins and daughter, Kenzie of Prole; Jackie Winters, of Eldora; David and Jennifer Mitchell and daughters Megan and Emily, of New Providence; and Diane and Richard Popelka of Traer.

As a special treat, grandson Ryan Faircloth and his wife Nora and daughter, Ellie, joined the party via the internet.

Both Reva and Ludwig are retired and live on their farm a mile north of Toledo. They have 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren, with another great grandchild due any day. Maybe even another Leap Year Baby!!
